Damai Beach Resort is owned and operated by Sara Resorts Sdn. Bhd. Sara Resorts Sdn. Bhd. Is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).

SEDC established in 1972, is a state-owned statutory body with the general aim to promote commercial, industrial and socio-economic development of Sarawak, Malaysia.

SEDC acts as a catalyst for investments in Sarawak by providing one-stop advice on business opportunities and where necessary, serving as a joint-venture partner in a broad spectrum of industries,

As at 31 December 2007, SEDC has thirty-seven (37) active associate and subsidiary companies, with a total group asset of RM 1.2 billion as at 31 December 2006.

As a Corporation that seeks to promote quality and transparency in its service to customers, SEDC has been recognised nationally, having won the prestigious Prime Minister's Award for Quality (Public Sector) in 1994 and the Sarawak Civil Service Quality Award ( Chief Minister's Trophy ) in 2000, among other awards. SEDC is the first Statutory Body in Sarawak adopted by Jabatan Audit Negara for its financial management under 'Anak Angkat' programme in 2005.
